I-OXY INJECTION
Composition
Each ml Contain.
Oxytetracycline HCl Eq. to 50mg Oxytetracycline Base
Mode of Action
Oxytetracycline blocks or alters protein synthesis in bacterial cell – This blockage is done by binding at the 30-S ribosomal unit. This attachment of oxytetracycline is a reversible binding to ribosomal unit causing a bacteriostatic effect.
Indications
Infections caused by: Gram- Positive: Staphylococci, Listeria. Gram- Negative: Pasteurella, Brucella, Vibrio cholera, E. coli, Salmonella.
Others: Mycoplasma, Rickettsiae, Chlamydiae and conditions like Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Mastitis, Metritis, Urinary tract infections, Fowl cholera, Coryza and CRD etc.
Dosage & Administration
Deep i.m injection only
Horse and cattle 10-12 ml per 100 kg b.wt. i.m
Sheep and Goat 8 ml per 40 kg b.wt. i.m
Dog and Cat 1-2 ml per 10 kg b.wt. i.m
Contra-indications
Not for i.v administration.
Occasional local reaction may occur.
Do not dilute the injection.
Do not mix with other injections.
Side Effects
I-OXY Inj. is well tolerated but occasionally a slight & transient reaction may be observed at the injection site.
